Henry's Lingshire's father's last name was actually Lingscheit. Henry was the oldest of Joe and Catherine's 15 children. A niece of Henry' wrote a book about Joseph (titled Big Joe), and relates a story regarding Henry changing his last name at his wife's request as she was very prudish and found Lingscheit offensive.
It made him a difficult man for me to trace until I was given the book! My husband's grandfather's grandmother was Henry's sister, Mary Lingscheit Kosse.
