Word was received in this city Saturday of the death of Larkin Dodge Mason, father of C.T.T. and Clinton S. Mason of this city, at his home in Tamworth, New Hampshire, on Saturday morning at the advanced age of ninety three years. The deceased was born in New Hampshire on May 16, 1810. He was a merchant and farmer but at the outbreak of the civil war was made colonel, his duties being to look after the wounded and sick and to gain a knowledge of the missing. After the war he was elected to the bench of Carroll County, New Hampshire, and served as judge until he was seventy years of age. He exerted a strong influence in public affairs in New Hampshire. The deceased was the father of twelve children, eight of whom are living. They are Clinton S. and Charles T.T. of this city; Nicholas W. of Houston Texas; John L., Sarah O. and Mame E. of New Hampshire, Justin E. of Chicago and Henry M. of Nashville, Tennessee. The Mason brothers of this city have the sympathy of a wide acquaintanceship in the death of their aged father.

Son of Tufton Mason and Sarah Gilman. He married Catherine Staples. Their children also include Johanna Falsom Mason.
