Born in Gallatin, Tenn., he was the son of the late Robert and Nancy (Prowell) Kittrell. Married Oct. 27, 1928 in Alton, IL to the former Dorothy Ballard. He served in the U.S. Army World War II veteran. He retired in 1963 as a machine operator from the corrugated department of Owens Illinois Glass of Alton, ater 38 years. Survived by a two sisters, Jennie Elwell of Alton and Lorraine Bradshaw of Middletown, Ohio. Three brothers and a sister preceded him in death. Elias-Smith Funeral Home in Alton in charged of the servies. Rites conducted by Franklin Masonic Lodge 25 AF&AM following the funeral service. Burial in Valhalia Memorial Park in Godfrey, IL.
