Mary Brewster Nutt was born 24 Aug 1829 in Topsham, Orange Co. Vt, the daughter of Isaac Brewster Nutt and Sally Ann Monroe Nutt. She was a Milliner in Thetford, Vt.
She traveled to Iowa City, Johnson Co, IA and married Loved Garey there on 19 March 1859. They farmed in Benton Co, IA where their seven children were born. They were,
George Loved 1860 who died at age one month, Fred Alson,
Harriett, Mary Elizabeth (aka Minnie), Fanny Jane who died as an infant, Adeline Amelia, and Nellie Eva. The family moved to Linn Co, IA Three of their children died of Diptheria, Fred Alson in Dec 1881, Harriett, died Dec 1881 and Nellie Eva, Jan 1882
Mary died at their home north of Marion in Linn Co, on July 11, 1885. She and her children are buried at Oak Shade cemetery in Marion, Iowa.
