Mr. Miner was born June 28, 1916, in Metzger. He graduated from Linfield College. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II in the Pacific. In 1960, he moved to Glendale, Calif., and was a postal inspector for the U.S. Postal Service until retiring in the early 1970s. He then was an accountant for Thru The Bible for 20 years. He moved to Fredericksburg, Va., earlier this year. He was a past member of Salem Lutheran Church in Glendale for 40 years and a current member of Christ Lutheran Church in Fredericksburg. In 1940, he married Evelyn B. Pratt; she died in 1999.
Survivors include his daughters, Barbara Collins and the Rev. Diane Wheatley; son, David; sister, Maxine Sloan; 10 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
