Mrs. Benson died Friday at her home, 3731 S.E. Washington Street. Burial will be in Riverview cemetery.
Mrs. Benson, a resident of Oregon for many years, came to the Northwest with her father, a physician for Southern Pacific railroad. She moved to Portland in 1890. Later she joined the nursing staff at Good Samaritan hospital. In 1906 Mrs. Benson was appointed superintendent of Multnomah county hospital.
She was a member of Eastern Star and the First Baptist Church. Surviving are two nieces, Mrs. Bida Rich, Ketchikan, Alaska, and Mrs. Mabel Reed, Portland.
