Suriviving are son,Vernon Bennett II; daughters, Sherry and Michelle Bennett; grandchildren, Bryson and Mia Bennett; brothers, Robert (Karen)Bennett, Joe Bennett, Chuck 'Bill' (Marta) Bennett and his 'brother' and best friend, Raymond White; stepmother, Vonnie Bennett; stepbrothers, Danny (Shelly) Smith and David Smith and stepsisters, Tammy (Jody) Stevens and Tina Hogsett.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He was a veteran of the Army, serving in Vietnam.
