Wilma Naber was born on May 7, 1914, in Kamrar, Iowa, the daughter of Jennie (Huisman) and Gerit W. Naber. In 1916, she moved with her parents and family to the Lake Lillian area where she was raised on a farm. She attended and graduated from the District 79 rural school. At the age of 14, she decided to live for the Lord and was faithful in her service to Him all her life. Wilma was a caregiver all her life and helped care for many people. In 1939, she helped a family in Gaylord, Minnesota for 16 months where the mother had died and left 10 young children to be cared for. In 1943 she went into the ministry for 6 years, but due to ill health she moved to Willmar. From 1954 to 1978, she worked at the Bethesda Heritage Center as a nurses aid. After her retirement, she cared for her parents in their home for 12 years. Wilma lived with her sister Ruby in Willmar until she entered the Bethesda Homes in 2005 where she has resided since. Wilma loved being with family and friends. She was a good cook and enjoyed gardening and doing lawn care at their home.
She is survived by two sisters, Violet Naber of Willmar and Ruby Naber of Willmar. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews, besides other relatives and friends. Wilma was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers (Edwin Naber, LeRoy Naber and Paul Naber), three sisters (Margaret Hanson, Rose Miller and Leone Hanson), three brothers-in law (Carlton Hanson, Clifford Hanson and John Miller) and one sister-in-law (Ella Naber).
