Carl D. Ackerman, 81, of Gibsonia, PA died January 2, 2000. He was born November 17, 1918, in Edwardsville (IL). On May 24, 1942, he married Doris Fiedler of Granville in the Granville United Church of Christ. He is survived by his wife, a son, David Ackerman, his wife Judy and two grandchildren of Gibsonia, a sister of Grand Junction, CO, and a brother of West Chester, Pa.
Funeral services were at Schellhaas Funeral Home, January 6, 2000 with the Rev. John Campbell officiating.
Mr. Ackerman was a retired engineer P.E. of Gulf Oil Corp., a graduate of the University of Illinois with a B.S. degree in Chemical engineering, a member of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers, past vice president of the Gulf Research Retirees Assoc. member of the Instrumental Society for America, an Elder at the Cross Roads Presbyterian Chruch, a Boy Scout and Leader of the Boy Scouts for 25 years. Attending the funeral from this area were Kenneth Fiedler, Eleanor Bruch and Ron Bruch, who served as pallbearers for his wife.
