"CASSIUS CLAY ASH
CASSOPOLIS: Cassius M. Clay Ash, 81, died today at noon after suffering a stroke at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Preston Hawks of Calvin Center, with whom he had lived for 2 years.
He was born Feb. 19, 1866, the son of Marmaduke and Louisa Wade Ash in Calvin Center. On Nov. 3, 1891, he married Rachel Harris.
Surviving beside the daughter are another daughter, Mrs. Grace Bolden, Grand Rapids, Mich.; 2 sisters, Mrs. Stella Callaway and Mrs. Ella James, both of Calvin Center, and 3 brothers, Cora of South Bend, Chester of Gobles, Mich., and Amos of Calvin Center.
Services will be at the Chain Lake church at 2 p. m. Monday, burial will be in the church cemetery."
