Velma Russell Lewis, 69, of Newport died at Pitt County Memorial Hospital. She was the daughter of Daniel Webster Russell and Lola Russell, and sister of the late Dora Lee Russell Morton of Hubert. Survivors include her husband, Garland Lewis; a daughter, Angie Trott of Jacksonville; three sons, Terry Lewis and Jeff Lewis, both of Newport, and Phillip Lewis of Okinawa, Japan; brothers and sisters, Homer Russell of Wildwood, Linda Smith of Crab Point, Blinnie Mason and Danny Earl Russell, both of Bogue, and Kathy Russell of Casar. She is deeply missed.
