C. Victor Carlson, a tailor here the last 36 years, died at 7:30 o'clock this morning at his home, 629 East Twelfth street. His death terminated a week's illness. For the last 12 years he had been a member of the tailoring firm of Carlson & Swanson, 217 ½ Brady street.
Born in Sweden, Jan. 16, 1856, he was married in Sweden Dec. 31, 1880 to Anna Peterson and the couple came to this country in 1884, settling in Burlington, Iowa. In 1897 they came to Davenport, having since lived here. He was of Lutheran faith, and was a member of the Tri-City Tailors' union. Mrs. Carlson preceded him in death, Dec. 29, 1930.
Surviving are two sons, Carl L. and Edwin A. Carlson, of Davenport; two sisters, Mrs. Alfred [Hulda] Anderson of Des Moines and Mrs. John [Jennie] Swanson of Oskaloosa, Iowa, and a grandson, Robert Carlson, of Davenport.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday at the Runge mortuary chapel, and burial will be in Pine Hill cemetery.
Carl had another half-sister in America, Mrs. Charles [Matilda] Holm who died in 1905.
