Soviet architect, chief architect of Moscow and an academician. Executive editor of the magazine "Architecture of the USSR". In 1923, he entered the Moscow Alabyan the department of architecture Art Workshops. There, in the years of study, originated by his friendship with the architects M.D. Mazmanian, G.B. Kochar, V.N. Simbirtseva, with whom he subsequently built many buildings in Moscow and Yerevan. After graduating, he returned to Yerevan, which just began the rapid construction. Just two years spent Alabyan in Armenia, but in that short time he managed to do a lot. In his project (he headed Gosproekt) in Yerevan were built club builders, house Electrochemical Trust, House Chief Geological controls, many other objects. Moreover, this practical work Alabyan combined with teaching in the Faculty of Architecture of Yerevan Polytechnic Institute. In 1929 - graduated from the Moscow Higher School of Technology, in the same year was one of the founders of the All-Russian Association of Proletarian Architects.
