"Death of Mrs. Lucy C. Thornton.
The relict of the late Judge Harry I. Thornton, Mrs. Lucy Crittenden Thornton, died at her residence, 301 Van Ness avenue, on the afternoon of Christmas Day. She was the daughter of Col. John Crittenden, and was born in Kentucky in 1802. One of her brothers, Robert Henry Crittenden, was Governor of Arkansas; another was a United States Senator and afterward Attorney General of the United States, and a third brother, Thomas Crittenden, was the father of General Crittenden of Missouri and A. P. Crittenden of this city."
Notes: (1)Lucy was the daughter of John Crittenden whose burial is currently unknown (4/18/2015) but it is believed he was buried on the family farm. (2) Sources are consistent about the year of Lucy's birth and that she was the daughter of John & Judith Crittenden, however the date of Judith Crittenden's death is in dispute and 1800 cannot be correct.
