Local man killed by car in Oregon

A former Hagerstown resident was struck by a car and killed as he crossed a highway in Oregon Sunday, his sister said.

Alan B. "Sonny" Goslin, 48, and a friend were crossing a highway in Gladstone, south of Portland, at about 7 p.m. Pacific Standard Time, said Stephanie V. Mills of Hagerstown, Goslin's sister. They were on their way back to the friend's house, she said.

Mills said her brother, who used to live on Franklin Street in Hagerstown, moved to Oregon about three weeks ago for a construction job.

The investigating trooper for the Oregon State Police was not available for comment Wednesday afternoon.
