Thursday, April 11, 2002 at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, Macon Road Chapel with private interment in Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6 P.M. until 8 P.M. at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be: Richard POPE, Cidney JOHNSON, Blain FOLEY, Bill FOLEY, David ESKRIDGE and Brent JOHNSON. // Mrs. BROWN was a member of First Baptist Church of Columbus and a member of Amoma Sunday School Class for many years. // Mrs. BROWN was a former member of the Columbus Junior Women's Club, the Quota Club of Columbus for a number of years and the Wynnton Study Club. She was a member of the George Walton Chapter of National Society Daughters of the American Revolution. // Mrs. BROWN was a volunteer at Doctor's Hospital. She also served as hostess at the Columbus Women's Club on Wynnton Road, the First Baptist Church, St. Paul United Methodist Church and Christian Fellowship Association. She was preceded in death by her husband, John L. BROWN. // Survivors include two sisters, Kathryn T. HEBERLING of Columbus and Lyra T. CROWN of Cary, N.C.; three nieces, Mary M. CLINE of Doraville, GA, Peggy M. SIZEMORE of New Smyrna Beach, FL and Patricia CROWN LEARY of Raleigh, N.C.; one nephew, Francis CROWN of Tacoma, Washington. She is also survived by a step-daughter, Shirley B. and Charles A. BROUGHAM of Gulf Breeze, FL; a step-son, Cyril MURRAY and Ancel BROWN of Versailles, KY; grandchildren, Teresa M.
