Longwood, FL - Matilda "Tillie" Basilio Mosca Guido, 96, of Ocala, FL, formerly of Rome, NY, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2012, in Longwood, FL.
She was born in Rome, Italy, on January 28, 1916, daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Picciano Basilio. Tillie married Frank Mosca in 1934. He passed away in 1978. She later married Dominick A. Guido in January, 1982. Mrs. Guido was a member of Blessed Trinity Church in Florida and in Rome, NY, was a member of St. John the Baptist Church. She was an avid bowler in Rome and Florida.
Surviving besides her husband, Dominick, Ocala, FL, are three sons and two daughters-in-law, Arthur Mosca, Rome; Michael and Shirley Mosca, FL; Robert and Debra Mosca, Clinton; two daughters, Maryanne Peck, Rome; Marie and her husband, Dave Helmick, Culpepper, VA; a step-son and his wife, David and Nancy Guido, PA; a step-daughter and her husband, Joan and James Perry, Longwood, FL. Also surviving are four brothers and two sisters-in-law, Armando Basilio, Canastota; Carmen and Josie Basilio, Rochester, NY; Paul and Jean Basilio, Canastota; Joseph Basilio, Canastota; a sister, Dolores Mussacchio, Texas; 15 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, one great-great- grandchild, three step grandchildren, five step great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a daughter, Patricia Larder; a son, Frank Mosca; two grandsons, Jason Mosca and David Peck; a daughter-in-law, Elaine Mosca; a son-in-law, David Peck and sisters, Nellie Backus, Jessie DeSteffen, Lucy Cesarini and Anna Baxter.
Funeral services will be held on Monday at 9:15 a.m. from the Nicholas J. Bush Funeral Home, Inc., 218 W. Court St., Rome, NY, and at St. John the Baptist Church at 10:00 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial with the Rev. Paul F. Angelicchio officiating. Burial will be in St. John the Baptist Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 2-5 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Rome Catholic High School Jason Mosca Memorial Fund, 800 Cypress St., Rome, NY 13440.
