Richard was born on June 16, 1942 in Camas, Washington to his parents Glen and Mary (Piller) Cowan. He worked in the Nuclear Industry as a Chemical Engineer. He earned his Bachelor's Degree from Washington State University and his Master's Degree from Washington State University. He attended the Catholic Church. Richard is survived by his wife, Dorothea at home; daughter, Sarah Barnes of Kennewick, Washington; sons, Thomas Cowan of Vancouver, Washington, Michael (Ruth) Cowan of Walla Walla, Washington; brother, Robert Cowan of Vancouver, Washington; 3 grandchildren. Richard was preceded in death by his parents; 1st wife, Susan; sister, Elizabeth Fafnis. Per the family no service will be scheduled.
