He received his education in the district schools of Martell township, and at a business college in Lake City, MN.
He resided in section 34, Martell township, where he owned 200 acres of well improved farmland. Oscar farmed this, his parents home place to which he added 80 acres and put on many improvements. In addition to his farm interests he was treasurer of the Lawton Co-operative Creamery. He had quite an interest in timber lands in Ashland County, WI. He was not only a good farmer, but a good businessman.
He married Gunhild Peterson, the daughter of Amund and Karen Peterson on July 4 1899.
