Mrs. Shank, age 66 years, passed away on November 1, 2012 at McLaren Bay Region with her family by her side. She was born in Bay City on September 14, 1946 to the late Clinton and Mary (Brown) Worden. Mary was a member of Fraser Road Church of God and worked as an L.P.N. for many years, retiring from The Carriage House of Bay City.
On August 15, 1969, she married Dennis J. Shank and he survives her. She also leaves 2 children: Dennis (Cathleen) Shank II and Samantha (Jeff Chandler) Pharis, 5 grandchildren: Christopher, Courtney and Brandon Shank, Capri Pharis and Jayden Chandler, a brother Steven (Judy) Worden, her mother-in-law, Delores Shank, as well as several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, Janelle Snyder, a brother, Samuel Worden and her father-in-law, Lawrence Shank.
Funeral and Committal service will be on Monday, November 5, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Penzien-Steele Funeral Home. Pastor Gerald Johnston will officiate. Private interment will be in Floral Gardens Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 2-5 & 7-9 p.m. Memorial contributions can be made to Fraser Road Church of God or the American Cancer Society.
