Edward David Minarik, 74, of Valier, a 38 year sober member of AA and a US Navy veteran who worked in maintenance, an oil field and as sexton of a cemetery, passed away of natural causes Tuesday, Oct. 30, at his home.

Funeral mass is 2 p.m. today at St. Francis Catholic Church. Burial with military honors will follow in Lakeview Cemetery. Pondera Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Donna; daughters Kathryn Lehman of Bozeman, Michelle Holland of Valier, Joelyn Fleisher of Conrad and Hope Sidmore of Brady; sons Boyd Minarik of Two Rivers, Wisc., Francis Geiger of Glendive, Rick Hayden of Kalispell, Eldon Christmann of Fairview and Joe Palmer of Watford City, N.D.; sister Dorthy Morneau of Youngstown, Ohio; 23 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by daughter, Teresa Sue Minarik; and one grandson.
