Tuesday of last week Mr. Robt. McRee was killed by Dr. James Coats at Belmont. Our information is that the parties named had a difficulty, and had clinched, when McRee struck Coats with a pistol and the weapon fired, slightly wounding the latter; who then drew a pistol and shot McRee, killing him instantly. Coats surrendered himself to the authorities, and after examination before J. H. Myers, J. P., was discharged.
