George J. Katkaveck, 88, of Manchester, died Friday, (October 5, 2001) at Manchester Memorial Hospital. Born in Hartford, March 9, 1913, he had been a Manchester resident most of his life.

George was a Veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army, and prior to retiring in 1978, had been employed at the Pratt & Whitney Aircraft Company in East Hartford over 30 years. He was parishioner of St. Bridget Church and a member of VFW #2046 and the Lithuanian Club.

He is survived by his sister and brother, Annie E. LaChance of Manchester, and Leo Katkaveck of Edenton, NC; several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
