Edra Claudine Manuel, 82, of Richland, WA, passed away October 4, 2012 at Kadlec Regional Medical Center. She was born August 8, 1930 in Hollis, OK and raised on her maternal grandparents' farm outside town. He sttended Hollis High School and worked on her grandparents' farm. Edra entered the Army on February 16, 1949, meeting her future husband and getting married on October 23, 1949. She played on the camp Stoneman California WAC basketball team. She raised five children and helped raise two grandchildren. She volunteered with the PTA and taught preschool and Sunday school at the Richland Church of Christ. She enjoyed gardening, painting, selling Avon, helping her children with their pets, hunting for agates on the Washington and Oregon beaches and feeding and watching the birds in her backyard bird feeder. Edra was survived by her husband, Art Manuel; children: Vicki Contini, Kathy Manuel-Hawkins, Pam Briggs, Denise Meinke and Chris Manuel; grandchildren: Christina Heater, Regina Powers, Kali Hawkins, Sarah Hawkins, Amanda Meinke, Jeremy Meinke; great-grandchildren: Caleb Heater, Jessica Heater, Zachary Heater, Liam Powers, Caitlyn Powers, Ethan Miller; numerous cousins. She was preceded in death by her mother, Edith Aileen Royal Ketchersid Atkeson; father, Claude Carlyle Ketchersid and her brother, Gerald Ray Ketchersid.
