Jewish Baby Graves We Have Adopted

One year, the women in my family were making our annual visit to tend to family graves. We found ourselves in a section of the cemetery where there was only one grave that belonged to us. As my sister lovingly tended to her husband's grave, we noticed that one of my nieces had stepped across a row of trees into another section of the cemetery and was digging the sod away from the planting area of a Jewish baby grave. Every year since then, when we return to visit my brother-in-law's grave, several of us step into the next section and take care of our "adopted" Jewish baby graves.
