1921 ZR-2 Dirigible disaster

August 24, 1921, over the town of Hull, England, the British dirigible R-38, built for the US Navy and given the designation ZR-2 exploded and crashed during a test flight. Sixteen of the 17 US Navy team and 28 of the 32 British crew were killed. Of the listed six naval officers, only LCDR Bieg was not a Naval Aviator.
