Adele Davis wrote several, sometimes controversial, books on human nutrition. Roscoe Leak wrote several articles on the history of Lizton and Union Township including a history of the Lizton Christian Church that includes an extensive history of the Union Township area. Don Hall and his mother Ruth (Leak) Hall collaborated on So Brief A Frontier which traces the development of Union Township through stories from their family. They also wrote an article on the cholera outbreak that struck Lizton in 1873. William Whisler wrote a book of stories from his childhood in northern Union Township titled What Happened Grandpa? Lawrence Randle wrote a similar book of stories about his childhood in northern Union Township and southern Boone County titled Bare Feet and Gravel Roads.
