Tocks Island Dam Project Kurtz Farm

Interments in cemeteries that were almost left underwater, had the Tocks Island Dam Project gone through. Newspaper notices in PA, NJ, & NY, sought next of kin for the interred, and as much info as was there is now on each memorial. Had it gone through, the dam would have destroyed farmland, scenic beauty, a large free flowing river, and areas of historical significance. Before cancellation, the Secretary of the Interior, armed with $65 million, bought up much property. Lutheran camps people in my family went to - Camp Miller (for boys), Camp Hagan (girls) and Camp Ministerium (family camping) all were bought and abandoned. They were later made into some mixed incarnation called Bear Creek Camp at another location.
