Frankish knight who was one of the leaders of the First Crusade from 1096 until his death. He was the second son of Eustace II, Count of Boulogne, and Ida of Lorraine (daughter of Godfrey III, Duke of Lower Lorraine and his wife, Doda). He died in Jerusalem after suffering from a prolonged illness.

(although one 13th-century chronicler cites Baisy, a town in what is now Walloon Brabant, Belgium).
MARRIAGE Currently unknown, old documents said he was married before his crusading!
CHILDREN Currently unknown, old documents said otherwise ~ not confirmed.

DIED 1) 1099, Seaport of 'Akkā (Acre) killed by an arrow during a seige.
2) Illness in Caesarea (emir of Caesarea poisoned him with an apple laced with typhoid-salmonella typhi bacteria), 1100, taken to Jerusalem and died on July 18, 1100.
