Martin John Christenson, 88, passed away Tuesday, January 7, 1992, at the Chippewa County Montevideo Hospital.

He was born to Christ and Bertha Kvistad Christenson on November 29, 1903, in Sioux Agency Township near Echo, Minnesota.

Martin was united in marriage to Marjorie Dammann on May 9, 1943, at the Our Savior's Lutheran parsonage in Montevideo, Minnesota. Martin farmed in Chippewa County until 1948 when they moved to Lac qui Parle County and farmed until he retired in 1972. They then moved into Boyd, Minnesota.

He enjoyed farming and in retirement also helped on farms; he liked to visit with friends and relatives. Martin was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Boyd.

Surviving Martin is his wife Marjorie; sons, Galen and wife Lorraine, Roger and wife Joyce, Jerry and wife Janice, and Charles; daughters, Doris Zachow, Wanda and husband David Nicks, Mary Lou Christenson, and Karen and husband David Schmitt; 20 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren; sisters, Mrs. Anna Steenson, Mrs. Caroline Bennett and Enga Nelson.

He is preceeded in death by his parents; brothers Benny, Carl and Henry; twin sisters, Katherine Billings and Martha Holmes.
