Funeral services for Dr. Christian Andrew Ulrich, 83, of Monroe, LA, will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday, December 27, 2007, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe, with Rev. Tom Ulrich and Dr. J. T. Laird officiating. Graveside services will be at 2:00 PM Saturday, December 29, 2007, at Irving Park Cemetery in Chicago, IL.
Dr. Ulrich passed away Monday, December 24, 2007, at St. Francis Medical Center. He was a U. S. Army veteran serving in the Korean War. He was a graduate of Northwestern Medical School and a resident at The Mayo Clinic. He served as Chief of Staff at St. Francis Medical Center and had an Internal Medicine private practice in Monroe for over 47 years. He and his partner, Ralph Simpson, also founded the Pillars.
Survivors include his wife, Gayette S. Ulrich; three children, Christie Bonds and husband Kenny of Moscow, AR, Tom Ulrich and wife Cathy of Ft. Smith, AR, and Mark Ulrich and wife Ruth of Monroe; and three grandchildren, Michelle and Christopher Bonds; and Laura Elisabeth Ulrich. Other surviving family members include sister-in-law, Katherine Ulrich of Mt. Laurel, NJ; niece, Ruthann Cage of Raleigh, NC; nephews, Michael Ulrich and wife Debbie of Mt. Laurel NJ; and John Ulrich and wife Kathy of Jersey City, NJ.
Honorary pallbearer will be Dr. Ralph Simpson and members of the Ouachita Parish Medical Society.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.
