NOXON – Leonard and Lois Brothers, ages 79 and 85, died Wednesday, Jan. 8, 1997, of injuries sustained in a vehicle accident.

Leonard was born Feb. 22, 1917 in Central City, S. Dakota, the son of Ben and Lula Nall Brothers.

Lois was born Oct. 7, 1911 at Iona, Wyo., the daughter of George and Lauretta Stewart Bassett.

Dec. 20, 1948, the couple were married at Lovell, Wyo., and made their home at Lovell and in the surrounding area until moving to Montana where they lived in several communities until moving to the Noxon area in 1966.

They were active members of the Trout Creek Seventh Day Adventist Church. They were greatly loved in the Noxon area and were always ready to help when there was a need.

Lois enjoyed sewing, craftwork, gardening and tending to the wildlife in and around her yard. Her greatest love was for her family.

Leonard enjoyed woodworking such as building birdhouses and restoring furniture; music, which included playing the harmonica; picking huckleberries. He had served the Noxon School District as custodian for many years.

Leonard is survived by two daughters, his step-mother, a brother and three sisters [survivors names omitted.] He was preceded in death by a brother, Dave and a sister, Evelyn Bennett.

Lois is survived by five daughters, two brothers, and a sister [survivors names omitted]. She was preceded in death by two daughters, Maxine Asay and Karon Ailey; a son, Jay Asay; a brother, Clyde Bassett and a sister, Edna Abbott.

The couple is also survived by 24 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren.

Memorial services were conducted Monday, Jan. 13, at the Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Trout Creek with Pastor Curtis Dale officiating. Private burial took place in the Noxon Cemetery. Visitation was Sunday, Jan. 12, at the Coffelt-Bunch Funeral Chapel in Thompson Falls.—The Sanders County Ledger
