Ephraim bought a farm in the Kirby's Mill Community atop Sand Mountain near Section, Alabama, which is where he was found to be living in the 1900 US Federal Census.
By 1910, Martha is found listed as a widow, indicating obviously that Ephraim Berry Guffey had passed away sometime between 1900 and 1910. He was laid to rest beside of his late wife, Caroline, in the Guffey Cemetery.
