TELLS OF SEEING ACCIDENT.

A Witness to the Accident was Donald L. Anderson, 30, of Toledo, Ia.

He Says One Driver Apparently Lost Control on a Curve and Entered Wrong Lane.

Four persons were killed today and three others critically injured, one critically, in a head-on collision of two motor cars on U. S. 50, a mile southwest of Olathe.

The victims, as identified by Dr. David Long, Johnson County coroner:

FLOYD JOHN RICE, Emporia, Kas.
MRS. ETHEL ANN FOWLER, Emporia
THOMAS EDWARD CONNERS, JR., 2614 Madison avenue, driver of the northbound car.

No identification papers were found on the body of the fourth victim, a man.

The injured:
LLOYD McILVAIN, Emporia, severe head injury; condition critical; taken to the Gardner-Reese Hospital, Gardner.
MRS. McILVAIN, his wife; severe head injury; taken to the University of Kansas Medical Center; condition critical.
MRS. RICE, wife of Floyd John Rice, injured but conscious; taken to the Olathe Community Hospital.

On Way Home From the Game.

Patrolmen said the Rices, the McIlvains, and Mrs. Fowler, were n a southbound car on the way to Emporia after attending the baseball game here at the Municipal stadium.

A car driven by Donald L. Anderson, 30, Toledo, Ia., as following the southbound car.

Anderson said the northbound car had swung right, toward the inside of a curve, just before the collision.

In attempting to regain control, the driver appeared to swing back too far toward the center of the highway, Anderson said, and the collision followed.

His car was traveling about 50 or 55 miles an hour, Anderson said, and he was about three car lengths behind the southbound car. His wife and two sons, Rick, 9, and Don, 7, were in the car with him.

DOESN'T KNOW THE SPEED.

Patrolmen said Anderson was unable to estimate the speed of the northbound car, but he said it appeared to be going fast. The northbound car had a Missouri license.
