A native of Paulding County, Mr. Barton moved to Austell in 1964 from Atlanta. He retired in 1976 as an electrician with the maintenance department of Crawford Long Hospital, after 13 years of service. He was a member of Fortified Hills Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Neppie Wylie Barton; two sons, Harald Eugene Wylie of Austell and E.G. Wylie Jr. of Powder Springs; two daughters, Nora Betty Moon of Acworth and Juanita Keith of Powder Springs; 17 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
