For over 36 years, Mike was a loyal and very dedicated government employee. Throughout his whole life, car racing was his greatest passion. He and his wife Nelly traveled often, and the beach was his favorite place to be. He loved being around his daughter, Jennie, and her horses. Almost every day for 18 years he would join her at the stables or horse show events, truly enjoying every moment of helping out around the stable and spoiling his favorite horse "Buddy" with carrots.
After working and living in Germany for over 12 years, Mike and Nelly came home to San Antonio, TX, to retire and relax, which was well deserved.
Mike is survived by his devoted wife, Nelly A. Crabtree; daughter, Jennie Crabtree Goodnight; son-in-law, Randy G. Goodnight; granddaughter, Isabella Morgan Shields; Grandson, Conner Michael Shields; Mother, Naomi (Penny) Crabtree; father, Philip Crabtree; all of his extended family from Mexico; and wonderful friends and neighbors.
It was Mike's wish to not have a funeral service. He always fondly expressed to be cremated and have his ashes taken to his favorite spot near family in Acapulco, Mexico to be put in the ocean, and then for everyone to have a party and celebrate his life! We, his family, will honor his last wish.
