Gertrude I. Elliott Dirksen was born February 7,, 1927, in Rochelle, daughter of Ernest and rena Adams Elliott. She married Caarol G. Dirksen. Surviving are grandsons, Nick Louis, Kylee Dirksen and Dennis Dirksen; step-grandchildren, Richar and Rachael Dirksen; brother, George (Beverly) Elliott and other family members including nieces Donna Redmer and Judy (Dirksen) Welty.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Karl Dirksen and daughter, Lynn (Dirksen) Lois and her sister, Margaret Root.
