Sudden Death of Miss Catherine Agnew -
Talented Lincoln Singer Died of Brain Fever -
She was to Have Been Married Oct 12 -

Suffering but a few days from an attack of brain fever, Miss Catherine Parmalee Agnew, died at the home of her mother, 1709 C. street, last evening, shortly after 8 o'clock. Her illness was known to few, and her death came with hardly a warning. She was a member of the Kappa Alpha Theta sorority and had a wide friendship in university and Lincoln circles. Within a month, Miss Agnew was to have been wedded to Mr. Earl Roth, a young traveling man of the city, the event having been announced for October 12.

In her college life Miss Agnew has won an enviable position. Remarkably gifted with voice, she had made of herself one of the most talented singers of the city, and was a member of several choirs and quartettes at various times, besides being much sought after for her solo singing.

The funeral services in Lincoln will be short. After 7 o'clock this evening, and up until the time for the services tomorrow, friends will have an opportunity to see the body at the home. At 12:30 Saturday, the brief exercises will be held, and the body will be conveyed to Plattsmouth, the funeral party leaving at 2:10. After services at the home of her grandmother, Mrs. C. H. Parmalee, she will be buried in the cemetery at that place.

Miss Agnew was 23 years of age. Her father is not living, and her borhter, Percy Agnew, died early in the spring. Her mother, Mrs. Nellie Agnew and two sisters, Marjorie and Sallie, survive her.
