From The Nebraska State Journal, Lincoln, Nebraska, Wednesday, April 6, 1904, page 8, transcribed by Linda Berney:

Mrs. S. H. Atwood received a telegram yesterday from her sister, Mrs. Nellie Agnew, telling of the death of Percy Agnew at Phoenix, Ariz. Mrs. Agnew was to start last night for Plattsmouth with the body of her son. Her two older daughters and her brother, Mr. Tom Parmalee of Plattsmouth are with her. Mrs. Agnew rented her home in this city lat fall in order to spend the winter in a warmer climate with her son, but the trip was without avail as the seeds of consumption were already too deeply rooted to be eradicated.

Plattsmouth, Ne., April 5 (Special) - Word has been received here of the death of Percy Agnew, son of Mrs. Nellie P. Agnew, which occurred last night at Phoenix, Ariz. The deceased had been suffering from lung trouble, and went to Arizona several months ago in hopes of benefiting his health. The remains will be brought to this city for burial.
