Mary Ethel Morse was born October 21, 1871 at Beaver Falls, Minnesota and passed away in April 1960.
On December 31, 1891, "Mont" and Mary Ethel were married at Beaver Falls. The Greenslits made their first home on a 320 acre farm in Birch Coulee township where they lived until 1901.
The Greenslits lived on their Birch Coulee farm from 1891 until 1901 when they moved into their newly erected home near the Village of Morton.
The Greenslits were lifetime members of the United Methodist Church of Morton.
Mrs. Greenslit was instrumental in establishing the Renville County Historical Society and the Birch Coulee State Park. She was also a member of the Morton Women's Civic Club and the Eastern Star.
Eleven children were born to this union--seven sons and four daughter. All seven sons farmed in the Morton area. (Morton Centennial Book, copyright 1983, page 72)
