Elizabeth Evans, wife of William Whatley Carlisle, was the daughter of Jehu Evans and Elizabeth Chiles, according to FAG member "P.T.E." #47254549. She married William Whatley Carlisle in Morgan Co., GA on Oct. 9, 1821. She is buried next to the grave of Elizabeth Whatley Carlisle, mother of William Whatley Carlisle, the large grave of stacked brick just to the left of her grave.William W. and Elizabeth Carlisle lived in the beautiful white antebellum home in the center of Milltown, AL, overlooking Carlisle Creek, which is still standing and fully restored. It is believed William is buried in an unmarked grave next to his wife.
