Betty was united in marriage to Dick Barnes in 1949 and they lived in Red Oak, IA, until 1969 at which time they moved to Glenwood, IA. IN 2004, Betty moved to Omaha. Betty graduated from the University of Nebraska in Omaha in 1967 and worked for the State of Iowa as a social worker until retirement. She enjoyed reading and playing bridge. She deeply loved her family and friends and will be deeply missed. Preceding her in death were her parents, husband Dick Barnes and daughter Barbara Barnes. She is survived by daughters Linda & husband Dick LaRue and Kitty & husband John Tucker, grandchildren MaryBeth LauRue, John LaRue, Miriam Tucker, Joshua Tucker. Mother requested that no public funeral or memorial be held and we are respecting her wishes. Interment will be at the Evergreen Cemetery in Red Oak, IA at a later date.
