Philadelphia, Penn. – Funeral services for the Rev. Terry Lyle Aalborg, 53, formerly of Estherville, were held on Friday, April 21 in Philadelphia. A memorial service will be held in August with interment at East Side Cemetery in Estherville. He died on Thursday, April 20 at the University of Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia.

He was born on Feb. 16, 1947 in Nashville, Tenn., the son of Virginia and Arnette Aalborg. He moved to Estherville as a young child and was a graduate of Estherville High School. He attended Augustana College in Sioux Falls, S.D. and graduated from Berkeley College in Calif.

He was pastor of Lutheran Churches in West Branch, Minneapolis, MInn., and at the time of his death was pastor of the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer in Philadelphia.

He is survived by his wife, Nan of Philadelphia; two daughters, Laura and Hannah of Philadelphia; one son, Jacob of Philadelphia; mother, Virginia of San Francisco, Calif.; three sisters, Annette Aalborg of Oakland, Calif., Beth Garden of Idaho and Mary Valter of Clovedale, Calif. and several nieces and nephews.
