Helen J. Chapman, 93, of Coeur d'Alene, passed away at home May 29, 2012. She was born Dec. 11, 1918, in Rose Lake to Henry and Catherine (Hand) Weber.
She is survived by her four children, Kay Hall and Jane Graybill of Coeur d'Alene, Mary Garrison (Jim) of Rathdrum and son Dennis Chapman (Jenny) of Ellensburg, Wash. Helen has 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Helen graduated from Rose Lake High School in 1936 and Morse School of Beauty Culture in 1937. Helen held various jobs throughout her life, but she felt her most important job was that of being a mother and homemaker. Her hobbies included gardening, needlepoint, cooking and sewing for family and friends.
Love of family and her compassion for the less fortunate was admired by all who knew her.
Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis L. Chapman and her brother, Dr. Vernon Weber of Florence, Ore.
Helen was dearly loved by her family and will be greatly missed by them all. We love you mom. Thank you, for you were the best mommy ever.
A private graveside family service will be held.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any remembrances be made to Hospice of North Idaho, 9493 N. Government Way, Hayden, ID 83835. Yates Funeral Homes has been entrusted with the care of final arrangements.
