Avoca Services for Margaret Applegate
Avoca--Funeral services for Margaret Applegate, 64, of Avoca were held Monday at the Trinity Lutheran Church and burial was in the Graceland Cemetery. She died Friday after a short illness.
She was born near Walnut and moved to Avoca as a child. She worked in the kitchen of the AvoHa High School for 24 years until retiring in 1980. Her husband Harley died in 1979.
Survivors include a son, George of Harlan; a daughter, Cynthia Applegate of Des Moines; her mother, Anna Jorgensen of Harlan; a brother, Robert Jorgensen of Avoca; two sisters, Mrs. Melvin (Mary) Holtz of Avoca and Mrs. Wes (Elaine) Anderson of Minden, Neb.; and a grandchild.
