Services for P. Grinnell Marshall Cook, 85, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Dunbar Funeral Home . Gervais Street Chapel, with burial in Elmwood Memorial Garden. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Mr. Cook died Sunday, May 30, 1999. Born in Columbia, he was a son of the late Stanley H. Cook and Jennie Marshall Cook Touchstone. An Army veteran of World War IIU and Korea, he retired from the Union Pacific Railroad and S. C. Department of Corrections.

Surviving are his wife, Viola Strickland Cook of Columbia; a son George Marshall Cook of Elgin; daughters, Mary Louise Welle of Tillamook, Ore., Jennie C. Kirton of Elgin, Jeanette Gravelle of Columbia, Melissa Cook of Fresno, Calif. eight grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his first wife, Molly Lebsack Cook.
