Obituary – Louie H. Brandt
The funeral of Louie H. Brandt, 67, a retired carpenter and farmer, who died Wednesday, April 15, 1981, was held at 2 p.m., Saturday, April 18, at the Lamb Funeral Home in Gibson City. The Rev. E. J. Lang officiated. Burial was in Drummer Township Cemetery, Gibson City, where military rites were accorded by Lee-Lowery American Legion Post. Visitation was held Friday evening at the Funeral home. Mr. Brandt was born October 18, 1913, in Sibley, a son of Henry and Anna Huisman Brandt. He married Marguerite Taylor August 9, 1946, in Decatur. She survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Patsy Bolds, of Pekin; a son, Howard, Gibson City; three stepsons, Robert Painter, of Melvin; Darrell Painter, of San Diego and Jerry Painter, Live Oak, Florida; a brother, Albert, of Sibley; four sisters, Norma Jean Lehman or Urbana; Mildred Jamison of Elliott; and Viola Lowe and Bernice Shreves, both of Paxton; 17 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. A stepdaughter preceded him in death. Mr. Brandt lived in Roberts for the last years. He formerly lived in Gibson City.
