Charles R. Snyder, age 81, of East Sparta died Sunday morning after a brief illness. Born in Canton to the late Russell & Hazel (Grott) Snyder he was a retired employee of Republic Steel. Charles was also the owner of Snyder's Christmas Tree Farm since 1955. He was a member of the Ohio Forestry Assoc., Ohio Christmas Tree Growers Assoc., was a Farm Bureau Member and a member of Pike Grange. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife: Maxine Snyder in 1995. Survivors include a daughter: Cheryl Basel of Oklahoma City. Son: Charles "Rusty" Snyder, II of East Sparta. Four grandchildren: Nicole, Michael, Michelle, & Stephanie. Four great grandchildren: Emma, Ethan, Ella and Addy. Brother and sister-in-law: Jerry & Diane Snyder of Canton. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral service will be 11:00 A.M. Thursday in the Spiker-Foster-Shriver Funeral Home 4817 Cleveland Ave., N.W. with Rev. Jeffry Bullock officiating. Interment will be in North Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call on Wednesday from 6 to 8 P.M.Please sign the guest book.
