Mrs Minnie Bennett Vance of Star Route, Summersville, Kentucky was born in Green County, Kentucky on June 13, 1898 and departed this life at 12:55 a.m. Monday, August 30, 1982, at the McDowell Unit of the Jane Todd Crawford Memorial Hospital in Greensburg, Kentucky after a long illness.
She was 84 years, 2 months, and 17 days of age.
She was united in marriage to George McKinley Vance who preceded her in death on December 5, 1966. She is survived by two sons, Creswell Vance, and Ray Vance both of Star Route, Summersville, Kentucky. Other survivors include one sister, Mrs. Hallie Mayes of Louisville, Kentucky, two granddaughters, Mrs. Sandra Thompson, Lexington, Kentucky, and Mrs. Raymonda Wells of Jackson, Missouri and two great-grandchildren.
She had owned and operated a general store at Hudgins, Kentucky for many years.
She professed faith in Christ early in life and was a member of the Aetna Grove Baptist Church.
Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday September 1, 1982 at the Foster-Jones Funeral Home with the Reverend Eutra Hammett and the Reverend Randy Smith officiating. Burial was in the Aetna Grove Cemetery.
Pallbearers: Fred Kegebien, Darrell Vance, Boyce Vaughn, Cyril Mayes, Wilbert Bennett, and Terry Price.
