Mrs. Thompson was born in 1922 in Winneshiek County, Iowa, to Floyd and Gladys Arnold. She married Dyson Thompson on October 11, 1944, in Davenport. He died in 1996. She devoted her career to making a warm and loving home for her family. She also enjoyed watching cooking programs, sewing, doing crafts and playing cards.
Survivors include her sons, William Thompson of Davenport, Ronald Thompson of East Moline, Donald (Barb) Thompson and Michael (Carol) Thompson, all of Davenport, and Scott (Mary) Thompson of Olathe, Kan.; 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; sisters, Norma Engler of Eldridge and Janice Moeller of Davenport; and brothers, Robert Arnold of Eldridge and Duayne Arnold of Davenport. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Robert, a great-granddaughter, Britnany, and brothers, Dale, Darrell, Arlen and Neil.
